Major Upgrade Adds: Body-cam stabilization, auto-brightness, lens correction, and new 64-bit, GPU-accelerated architecture

Ikena Forensic 7 follows closely on the release of Ikena Spotlight 7, MotionDSP’s video redaction solution, showing MotionDSP’s commitment to delivering rapid innovation in GPU-accelerated computer vision technology to enable public safety agencies to be more effective.

What’s New In Ikena Forensic 7

Tuned for body cameras

Ikena Forensic 7 implements two new features specifically for body worn camera (BWC) video: a new stabilization algorithm specifically tuned to the movement of a running human — a police officer chasing a suspect, for example — and lens correction profiles to correct the radial distortion caused by extreme wide-angle lenses used in BWC.

New algorithms for dark scenes

Ikena Forensic’s new automatic brightness filter

 

Ikena Forensic features MotionDSP’s new Automatic Brightness filter, which is specifically designed to automatically and dynamically adjust for dark scenes. Turn on the Automatic Brightness filter, and Ikena Forensic automatically adjusts for dark conditions, and dynamically adjusts to the changing scene — for example, if the camera moves from indoors to outdoors, the filter will adjust to keep the lighting balanced. Ikena Forensic’s existing contrast filter has also been improved to allow for more intuitive use, revealing details in dark scenes that might otherwise be obscured by a single bright light source, like a streetlight.

New 64-bit architecture for high-performance with HD video

Ikena Forensic 7 implements a new 64-bit architecture which allows it to work seamlessly with high resolution, 4K video. Our customers will see the same easy-to-use interface, but will find working with large resolution files faster and smoother.

And, as always, Ikena Forensic is fully accelerated for NVIDIA GPUs, allowing any computer with an NVIDIA graphics card to process video up to 10 times faster than only on the CPU.
